Pacific Iron Ore's mandate is to focus on developing the Pearson Project on Vancouver Island. The Corporation also has prospects in northwest Ontario, mainly around Kenora. The Corporation has acquired claims totalling 12,752 hectares (84 mining claims and 14 leases), grouped into the following properties: St. Anthony, Best/King Bay, Witch Bay, Scarp Lake, and Jutton.

Three of these properties are prospective for rare-element pegmatites of petalite (lithium), tantalum and tin, of which one also has showings of uranium and molybdenum with decorative stone potential. Three are mainly prospective for gold and silver with associated minor zinc, copper and lead, of which one also has potential for nickel, platinum group elements (PGE) and decorative stone. One is prospective for copper, silver and gold.

Most of the properties lie in an extensively explored and staked region with proven mineral potential that historically had producing mines. Some of the deposits were discovered by Emerald Fields, while others had past showings or, in one case, commercial production, and were subsequently acquired by Emerald Fields. The prospects include Ontario's foremost historical producing gold mine, the St. Anthony mine, which produced gold and silver from 1905-1930 and from 1934-1941.

Emerald Fields conducted extensive exploratory work at the Ontario properties from 1997 through early 2008. This included prospecting reconnaissance, field surveys, analysis of historical technical reports, core drilling, trenching, sediment sampling, soil and vegetation analysis, geochemical analysis, aerial magnetic surveying, sampling, assaying by commercial and government agencies, and testing of samples by industrial manufacturers.

It is Pacific Iron Ore's intention to maintain these claims in good standing, while minimizing further capital outlays in order to focus on the Pearson Project. During 2009 and 2010, the Corporation anticipates completing a 20 hole diamond drill core Program on the St Anthony`s Project..
